About Kelly's Heating and air conditioning.

Common causes of furnace or home heating failure:

Many, but not all, heating system failures are caused by thermostat malfunctions, a blown fuse, tripped circuit breaker, a pilot light that has gone out or a hot surface ignition failure.

Before calling for heater repair or furnace repair:

  • Be sure the thermostat is set to "Heat" (if yours is a heating and cooling system).
  • Be sure the furnace's circuit breaker is on or that its fuse has not blown. If the circuit has tripped, reset it or replace the fuse if blown. If the circuit blows again, there is something wrong that needs a qualified heating repair technician.
  • Is the furnace power switch on? It is near or inside the furnace / heater. If it isn't on, turn it on, and wait for the furnace to engage.
  • If none of these help you need a qualified furnace repair technician.

What does a technician look for when a heater / furnace needs repair?

for more information see Kelly's heater repair, furnace repair section

NOTE: The decision to repair or replace your furnace is now more complex because of new rules. Read about the new rules for air conditioning systems

    Furnace repair. Heating repair.

Often, air conditioning system failure is caused a bad thermostat, defective contactor or tripped circuit breaker.

Before you call for air conditioning repair:

  • Be sure the thermostat is set to “cool” and below the current temperature.
  • Your air conditioner should be on it's own 240-volt circuit; check your homes main electrical panel and secondary circuit panels for tripped breakers or blown fuses. If you find the problem here, reset the breaker or replace the fuse. If the circuit blows again, something is wrong that needs a qualified air conditioning repair technician.
  • Make sure the furnace power is turned on and the outdoor condenser’s power switch, (on or near the outdoor unit is on). Check that the 240-volt disconnect next to the compressor (in a metal box, usually mounted on the house wall) is on too.
  • If the air conditioning still fails to start you need to call a qualified air conditioning repair technician.

What does a technician look for when an air conditioning system needs repair?  see Kelly's air conditioning repair section  for more information.

Our business revolves around giving you good recommendations. Sooner or later you will need a new furnace or air conditioning system.

The equipment we suggest to you has nothing to do with the name on the equipment. Our recommendations are based on our own experience, our customers experience and the experience the industry has with certain brands of equipment.

For example. In the previous 7 years we have only recommended refrigerant R-410A (Puron is Carrier's brand name for R-410A) air conditioning equipment to our customers. We did this because we knew the rules regarding what refrigerant can be used was going to change in the future, and it did starting January 1 2010. Our customers that needed to replace cooling equipment will not face any financial issues regarding refrigerant.

Bottom line: Kelly's recommends equipment which has in our experience provided long life, reliable energy efficient operation and value.

The following pages give you a quick synopsis of the equipment we have found provide the best all around for our customers.

Suggested heating & air conditioning equipment:

    Dear Tom:

What can I say, other than Thank You!. It's not often anymore that you find a service contractor who is willing to go the extra mile to satisfy a customer, but that is obviously exactly what you did.

After the recent installation of my new air conditioner, I can gladly say that I will refer your company to anyone and everyone that I come into contact with. As you know I had a defective unit from the factory, and I was shocked, but very pleased when I called you and you immediately sent someone out to correct my problems by installing a brand new unit! I was expecting the usual run-around, and a long string of excuses, but instead my concern was met with a sincere desire to correct the problem.

When I later expressed concern about the noise level of the unit outside my bedroom, you once again came through by installing a noise dampening blanket on my compressor. You did this immediately. and without even charging me extra! WOW!

I could sure become used to service like this, how do I get all the contractors I deal with to be equally responsive to my needs?

As you know, I am a real estate broker who deals with many banks and government agencies, and as such I use the services of all types of contractors in the repair and refurbishing of the many properties I handle. I can truly say without a doubt, you are the finest contractor I have worked with. Your level of service and your commitment to customer satisfaction can be summed up in one word, that word is "excellent" Webster defines excellent as "The state, quality, or condition of excelling, superiority. Something in which one excels" I could not agree more, you are Excellent!

Thank you once again for making this such a pleasurable experience , I am very grateful to you and your technicians. You may use my name as a reference anytime, and I am certain we will do business together for many years to come!

Gratefully Yours James Dienes 714 267 5090 President - Broker ERA Today Realty
